I don't know if there will ever be a real English translation, but the red labeled links contain an English summary. On other pages you will have to cope with Google translations.

1969: A portrait of the cyclist as a young man.                1991: Ton van der Tier, Wim Helwig and Wiel van den Broek at high level.

For whom were these stories written?

First of all for myself, to map the knowledge I gathered on biketech throughout the years. And of course for everybody who likes it! Some of these pages are practical, others theoretical. To a technician and a teacher, formulas are the language of reality.

In some pages there are Excel spreadsheets for calculations; you will need Microsoft Office 2003 to use these. The browser may warn you that there are Active-X elements on the page, that might harm your computer. If you want to use these spreadsheets, you should ignore these warnings (nothing scary is going to happen); see Mcafee Siteadvisor:  www.siteadvisor.com/sites/velofilie.nl

There is a lot of physics on these pages. You don't really need all that stuff to make good bicycle frames or wheels. But if you want to understand what is happening, it will help you making a well considered choice. Pick out the things you like and leave the rest to whom it may concern.
